Mthunzi Center

Mthunzi Centre, which means “shadow” in cinyanja, is a farm situated at about 15 Km from Lusaka.

Here 7 Zambian families live. Members of Koinonia community, they accepted permanently 67 street children, coming from Lusaka and from the nearby very poor rural areas, they are engaged with the children’ education and supporting their school fees.

Mthunzi Centre act also as day-time Centre for the children of the area, giving them the chance to take part in the animation and educational activities.

The centre made available to the inhabitants of the nearby villages a medical dispensary and a carpentry training school attended by the elder street boys who would not have otherwise working chances.

The main activities of the community are the agricultural produce and breeding.
